DIXON

i'm confused like usual
if we don't do the thing about the book...do we do both b and c?
and if so...what does it mean by the 18th thing in that song?
thanks :) -mady

more things for your bag but first a quick story:

1. my sophomore year at UNCW i lived in a house on wrightsville beach. the house had all kinds of beach related memorabilia and such. the person who owned the house had a whole bunch of books (21) about a guy who lived on a boat at slip f-18 bahia mar marina in fort lauderdale, FL. i read all the books. why am i telling you this? a friend of the main character also lived on a boat that has a name that we should be interested in. this friend was a retired economist and his first boat in the series is the one that i want to know about. so....

a. i want the name of the lead character in the books
b. the name of the economist’s boat and then...
c. i want you to explain why the name of the economist’s boat should mean something to us (i.e. why is it an important enough name that i remember it some 15 years later)
and i want all this information written on a notecard and put in your bag.

ok, that one might be hard, here’s one that’s a little bit easier.

2. the 18th thing mentioned in the song that you should already have the lyrics to. what is this thing and why is it important? also put your answer on another notecard.

3. in 1960 this man had the most famous shoe in the UN. i’d like a picture of him and his shoe.

more later, probably tomorrow.

first thing to go into your bag. on a piece of paper you should write the real name of the person who wrote an article for foreign affairs magazine under the byline "x" and in a sentence or so explain why this article is often called one of the most influential magazine articles of all time.

happy hunting.
